Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities - Kirkcudbright
Date: 4th May - 25th August 2008
A feast of traditional performances and energetic entertainment! Enjoy a range of great events throughout summer, including Scottish nights in the Harbour Square on Thursdays from 17th July, Children's Festival, Medieval Fayre, parade day, vintage car rally, culminating in the Tattoo in the shadow of the castle on 25th August with the main performers expected to be the Shotts & Dykehead pipe Band, 15 times winner of the RSPBA World Pipe Band Championships.

The Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Kirkcudbright - Kirkcudbright Town Hall, St Mary Street, Kirkcudbright
Date: 5th July - 25th August 2008
Continuing the series of top-quality art exhibitions organised annually by the Kirkcudbright 2000 group, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery will be showing over 50 works from its remarkably diverse collection of portrait paintings, illustrating Scottish life and society from the times of Robert Burns to Kenny Dalglish.

Galloway Country Fair - Moffat
Date: 16th - 17th August 2008
A traditional two day country fair, with trade stands, craft & food halls, main ring entertainment, stick making, demos, walling, falconry, gundogs, terriers, clay shooting, fishing, archery, axe throwing. A fun filled day for all the family.

Creetown Country Music Festival - Creetown
