SNOWDROP FESTIVAL

Date: 4th February - 18th March 2012.

Taking place at over 50 gardens across Scotland’s mainland, the festival is a great chance to get out in the fresh air and explore your local area, visit gardens and parks - some of which are open especially for the festival - and enjoy around 300 types of this delicate white flower which appears to defeat the cold winter by bursting into life each year.

DUMFRIES & GALLOWAY WILDLIFE FESTIVAL

Date: 31st March - 15th April 2012.

This year there are more than 80 events over two weeks with some new exciting additions to the festival. Look out for the new exhibition about ferns at Logan Botanic Gardens, "Pteridomania" running for the whole festiva;l or the Wild Food Forage in Langholm with a cooking demonstration and free lunch!

Tour DoonHame

Date: 8th - 9th April 2012.

The Tour DoonHame is a cycle road race taking place in Dumfries & Galloway on Easter weekend. Competitors tackle a testing course in excess of 200 miles over three days.

A veritable feast of the arts, with a wide range of events, including exhibitions, theatre, poetry, dance, stimulating lectures, visiting authors, classical, jazz, folk and rock music, and a growing programme of children's events. World Ceilidh - Knockengorroch Farm, Carsphairn, Castle Douglas

A world of music and dance in the Galloway hills, featuring top World and Traditional Music at this three day camping event.
